Dr. Menaka Pai holds BSc and MD degrees from McMaster University.  She obtained her FRCPC certification in Internal Medicine from McMaster University and her Subspecialty Certification in Hematology from the University of Toronto. Her research focuses on the development of standardized clinical assessment tools for mild bleeding disorders, and knowledge translation strategies to encourage appropriate venous thromboembolism prophylaxis.

Dr. Pai is a Consultant Laboratory Hematologist for the Hamilton Regional Laboratory Medicine Program, and a Clinical Scholar in McMaster University's Department of Medicine.  She currently practices clinical hematology and thromboembolism at the Hamilton General Site  She is enrolled in the Clinician Investigator Program and is pursuing her Masters degree in McMaster's Health Research Methodology Program.  Dr. Pai's graduate work is being supervised by Drs. Catherine Hayward, Mark Crowther and James Douketis.
